The cold war between Ameesha Patel and director Anil Sharma seems to be melting away as work on Gadar 3 picks up pace.
During Gadar 2 promotions in 2023, Ameesha accused Sharma of sidelining her role and altering the climax without her knowledge. She even claimed she would only return for Gadar 3 if the script excited her as much as Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, and insisted on proper paperwork. Sharma, meanwhile, dismissed the controversy, calling her “moody” but still “family.”

Bollywood fans who witnessed the furious fallout between Ameesha Patel and director Anil Sharma during the release of Gadar 2 may finally have a reason to rejoice. The actress, who had previously accused Sharma of “cheating” her by altering the climax and reducing her role, seems to have buried the hatchet with the filmmaker.
Back in 2023, Ameesha openly expressed her disappointment, calling out the lack of communication and paperwork, and even claimed that the climax of Gadar 3 had been shot without her. She maintained that she would only return if the script truly excited her, much like it did with Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. On his part, Anil Sharma had brushed off the controversy by calling her “moody” while still maintaining that she was like “family.”
‘Abhi Sab Badhiya Hai’ Says Anil Sharma
Talking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Anil Sharma has now set the record straight. “My equation with Ameesha is great now. Everything falls into place with time. Now everything is great!” he shared, hinting that the storm has passed.
However, sources reveal Ameesha has reportedly put forth a condition—she wants Tara and Sakeena’s love story to remain central to Gadar 3. When asked, Anil responded, “Sakeena and Tara are an integral part of Gadar. But we’ll discuss more about her character before the release of Gadar 3.”
Gadar 3 Script Is Ready
The director confirmed that the script is already locked and that fans won’t have to endure another 20-year wait. “Gadar 3 will definitely get made. We’ve already made a commitment to the audience in the last scene of Gadar 2. The story will move forward with Tara and Jeete,” Sharma revealed, adding that filming could begin in the next two years.
Box Office Legacy of Gadar 2
Released in August 2023, Gadar 2 turned into a blockbuster phenomenon, raking in record-breaking numbers and emerging as the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of the year after Jawan, Pathaan, and Animal. Sharma proudly recalled, “On the evening of August 9, we sold about 20 lakh tickets in advance bookings. I don’t think any film has created such history.”
With fences seemingly mended and the script locked, all eyes are now on whether Ameesha officially signs on for Gadar 3 alongside Sunny Deol.
